Award Show Season: Hits and Misses

As the Award Show season is upon us and the Oscars are rapidly approaching, I thought I would take a moment to reflect on some of my favorite (and least favorite) looks from the year so far.

Golden Globes

Hits:

Relatively new to the red carpet, Margot Robbie kills it in this Oscar de la Renta gown. Simple and elegant.

Misses:

 

Oh Drew Barrymore.... did you glue cotton balls to your dress? I can't even express my feelings towards this unflattering, poorly styled outfit.

 

Julia Roberts dressed up as a secretary for the Golden Globes.

SAG Awards

Hits:

Amy Adams in Antonio Berardi. A slightly risky cut, but extremely flattering and the color is perfect on her.

Misses:

Oh god,  I love Kerry Washington.. but what on earth is she wearing? She can do so much better than this. The skirt is too heavy, and the top looks like something a first grader made.

Critic's Choice Awards

Hits:

Kristen Bell in Pamella Roland, she looks like she walked right off of a runway.

Margot Robbie killing it again, this time in a Gucci jumpsuit. Daring move for the red carpet, but she can definitely pull it off.

Misses:

Adele Exarchopoulos, not sure what this is - but it's dreadful. 

Hopefully the rest of the year has lots of exciting fashion in store, and I can't wait to see what some of these celebs pull out at the Oscars. Stay tuned!

So far this fall, I've been absolutely obsessed with short dresses and boots. With a sweater over top, it's incredibly versatile - it can last me through class, dinner, and even going out.

Designer Spotlight: Alice & Olivia

Alice & Olivia has been one of my favorite brands since I spotted Taylor Swift in one of Stacy Bendet's signature dresses.

 

Ever since then, it's been a full-on love affair. I'm not alone, as other celebrities such as Nikki Hilton, Jenna Dewan-Tatum, Hayden Panettiere, and AnnaLynne McCord have been frequently photographed wearing the label.

Got that summertime sadness

Summer may be officially over for me now that I am back at school, but luckily the warm weather is here to stay... at least for a little while longer. This is one of my favorite looks from this summer, which I plan on rocking as long as these temperatures stay where they are!
